THE CREW

 

Shane Johnston Fine Piercing is made up of an established team of piercers and curators lead by owner and founder, Shane Johnston. With a wealth of experience between us, we have the expertise to get you exactly what you want.

SHANE

Shane Johnston launched his own Auckland piercing company in 1995 after attending the Gauntlet Piercer Training School in San Francisco. After becoming a Master Piercer in 1999, Shane continued to grow Streetwise, and started training other piercers in 2003 as a way of spreading best practice across the industry.

Before entering the piercing industry, Shane was a manufacturing jeweller for many years. He still keeps his skills fresh through some of the hand crafted high quality gold pieces used at Streetwise Fine Piercing, ensuring the quality and beauty of each and every piece of body piercing jewellery. He loves the art of jewellery design and is particularly passionate about creating top end and bespoke pieces.

We believe that piercing is an art – and a science. Great piercing can’t be learned over a few days or completed in a rush at a pharmacy. Instead, it takes someone who understands how the body works, how age and skin type can affect a piercing, what will suit each person, and how important the quality of the body jewellery is.
